ECOLIGHT - benefits in dry fasting cures
Dry fasting cures, which involve abstaining not only from food but also from drink, are gaining in popularity for their supposed detoxifying and regenerative effects on the body. In this context, the use of devices such as the Ecolight can offer additional benefits by supporting these processes through pulsed ultraviolet irradiation of the blood (UVOC).
1. Support for detoxification of the body
During dry fasting, the body is subjected to a form of controlled stress that promotes autophagy, a mechanism by which cells rid themselves of damaged and toxic components. The Ecolight device, by irradiating the blood with ultraviolet light, also encourages this process by acting as a catalyst for photochemical reactions in the blood cells. This UV exposure increases the activity of immune cells and stimulates the production of free radicals, which are beneficial for neutralising toxins.
In addition, blood irradiation improves microcirculation and promotes better oxygenation of tissues, making for a better dry fast. During dry fasting, when the body is already in a phase of intense regeneration, this additional stimulation can speed up the elimination of cellular waste and accumulated toxins.
2. Improved immunity and resistance to stress
Dry fasting is often used to boost immunity and rebalance the hormonal system. The Ecolight device complements this effect with its immunomodulating properties. Exposure to UV light increases the production of immune cells, such as lymphocytes and macrophages, which play a key role in fighting infection and eliminating damaged cells(
This action, combined with the effect of dry fasting, could improve the body's ability to defend itself against pathogens and reduce chronic inflammation.
In addition, studies show that UV irradiation of the blood can stimulate the production of endorphins, helping to reduce the effects of physical and mental stress that can result from strict fasting(
This may enable people undergoing dry fasting to cope better with periods of water abstinence, promoting a state of general well-being.
3. Optimisation of cell regeneration
One of the notable advantages of dry fasting is its ability to stimulate cell regeneration. In the absence of nutrients, the body activates internal mechanisms to recycle and repair tissues. The Ecolight device, thanks to its effects on oxygenation and microcirculation, can optimise this regeneration by increasing the availability of oxygen in the tissues and reducing blood viscosity.
This is particularly beneficial in the context of a dry fasting cure, where the body is already in the process of repairing itself.
UV irradiation of the blood can also have a protective effect on cells, notably by reducing excessive oxidation and promoting DNA repair. This process is reinforced during fasting, when the body naturally concentrates on restoring its damaged tissues.
4. Metabolic regulation and reduction of inflammation
The anti-inflammatory properties of the Ecolight device are particularly beneficial during dry fasting. Exposure to blood UV light reduces the concentration of fibrin, a protein associated with chronic inflammation and blood clot formation. By reducing this protein, the device improves blood fluidity and reduces inflammation throughout the body.
This is crucial for people with inflammatory conditions, such as arthritis, who may be looking for ways to relieve these symptoms during a fast.
5. Strengthening the healing process
Finally, one of the most interesting effects of Ecolight is its ability to stimulate healing processes. During a dry fast, the body is already engaged in a phase of intensive regeneration. The device enhances this process by increasing red blood cell activity and promoting better tissue repair. This includes the stimulation of stem cells, which are essential for the repair of damaged tissue and overall cell regeneration.
Conclusion
The Ecolight device can offer significant benefits when used as part of dry fasting cures. Its beneficial effects on blood circulation, tissue oxygenation, immunomodulation and cell regeneration support the natural processes of fasting. Although it is essential to evaluate the use of this device under the supervision of a health professional, it represents a potentially powerful tool for maximising the benefits of a dry fasting cure.
Introduction
Our therapeutic dry fasting centre is a pioneer in the use of the Ecolight light therapy device. This technology, invented in the 1980s by Dr Y.M. Belyaev, is distinguished by its use of ultraviolet light (305-405 nm) in pulsed mode. This innovative technology offers significant immunostimulant, bactericidal, vitamin-enhancing, healing and anti-inflammatory effects, making it interesting not only during fasting but also before or after dry fasting, and of course for maintaining health and looking after the family.
History and Scientific Recognition
The Ecolight device has received the approval of several eminent Russian scientists. These include Academician V.I. Shumakov of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member S.V. Gautier, and Academician A.N. Razumov, who validated the methodological recommendations. The project's scientific director was A.T. Bykov, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and Major General of the Medical Service.
Development and production
After more than 20 years of research, it was not until 2008 that the Ecolight technology began to be mass-produced in Russia. Prior to this crucial step, rigorous testing of the medical light therapy device was carried out in various medical establishments, including the FGU ‘VNII tests of medical equipment’ Rosdravnazor RF, the FGU ‘NIIT and IO Rosmedtechnologii’, and the FGU ‘Central Clinical Sanatorium named after F.E. Dzerzhinsky’. Trials also took place in six departments of the Kuban State Medical University.
Expansion and use
The Ecolight device is currently operating successfully in over 100 medical institutions and sanatoria across Russia, including Moscow, the Moscow region, Krasnodar, the Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, Rostov-on-Don and Chelyabinsk.
Biomolecular mechanisms of action of UV blood irradiation (UVOC)
UVOC (ultraviolet blood irradiation) is a method of influencing the blood using quanta of ultraviolet light, which has been used in medicine for over 80 years. In 1928, V. Hancock and E. Knott performed the first extracorporeal UVOC sessions on a pregnant woman suffering from septicaemia. In the USSR, this method was applied for the first time in 1937 in Leningrad by transfusologists Filatov A.N. and Kasumov G.I. Later, in 1979, the Leningrad State Optical Institute developed and tested the ‘Izolda’ MD-73 device, which is still in use today.
The mechanism of action of UV irradiation of blood is complex and varied. UV light enables the molecules in the cells of living organisms to absorb quanta of radiation, thereby participating in photochemical reactions that modify their structure and functions. UV irradiation of blood increases its bactericidal activity, inactivates toxic substances and enzymes, and activates blood cell functions. These combined effects improve microcirculation and increase the oxygenation capacity of the blood.
Therapeutic effects of UV
UVOC has several therapeutic effects:
- Bactericide: UV rays have a bactericidal effect on the blood, similar to that of antibiotics.
- Anti-inflammatory: UV reduces inflammation and stimulates immune defence processes.
- Improved microcirculation: The viscosity of the blood is reduced, improving blood circulation, which makes it interesting in dry fasting where there is a slight thickening of the blood.
- Increased oxygenation capacity: Irradiated blood transports oxygen better to the organs and tissues.
- Stimulation of regenerative and metabolic processes: UV promotes cell regeneration and normalises metabolic processes.
- Immunocorrective: UVOC restructures the immune system, improving non-specific immune responses.
- Stimulation of erythrocyte regeneration: Improves the functional properties of red blood cells.

- Ischaemic heart disease: Reduces atherogenic lipid indicators, improves blood supply and oxygenation, lowers blood pressure and improves metabolism.
- Rheumatoid arthritis: Reduction in the biological activity of the disease, improvement in psycho-emotional state, reduction in pain syndrome, and increased functional capacity of the joints.
- Viral herpes: Rapid disappearance of symptoms such as itching and burning, reduction in the duration of the pain syndrome and prolongation of the inter-relational period.
- Eye diseases: Therapeutic effect due to its anti-inflammatory and trophostimulant action, improving the state of microcirculation in the lacrimal organs.
General information
This therapy can be used on a daily basis to potentiate the effect of dry fasting and can be used before, during or after dry fasting for consolidation. It is of course optional during fasting but can be discussed with the person accompanying the fast, but can be of significant interest during the cures for oxygenation, general tone and inflammation. Circulatory improvement during fasting improves general homeostasis.
The ‘Ecolight 1’ non-invasive ultraviolet blood irradiation device (hereinafter referred to as the device) is an electro-optical device consisting of two blocks: a control module (electronics) and a transmitter (optics). It operates on a mains voltage of 220V ± 22V, at a frequency of 50 Hz. Average power consumption does not exceed 100W. The overall dimensions of the device are 250x250x90 mm maximum, with the transmitter measuring up to 80x200 mm. The overall weight does not exceed 3 kg. The device emits an effective spectrum from 305 to 405 nm in pulsed mode, with a pulse duration of 10 μs and a frequency of 1.5 Hz, allowing precise adjustment of the number of pulses in the ranges 10, 20, 40 and 80. The diameter of the irradiated zone 10 mm from the transmitter is approximately 100 mm. In accordance with GOST R 51609, the device is classified as class 2a in terms of potential risk. It is designed to operate in UHL climatic conditions, category 4.2 according to GOST R 50444.
The device is designed to stimulate the non-specific defences of cellular and humoral immunity, while offering general tonic and anti-inflammatory effects. It is indicated for a variety of common pathologies (see medical instructions for use). Thanks to its pulsed effect, UV radiation causes virtually no erythema, even after prolonged exposure.
The device and its treatment method are patented in Russia by Y.M. Belyaev (candidate in technical sciences, doctor in economic sciences, professor, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences). The mechanism of action of the ‘Ecolight 1’ impulses has been studied in collaboration with several medical institutions over more than 20 years, and the results are presented in the attached conclusions. It has been demonstrated experimentally that the device has a tonic and anti-inflammatory effect, stimulating the non-specific defences of cellular and humoral immunity. It implements a new worldwide method of treatment and prevention: non-invasive polychromatic light pulse therapy (NPSIT). The first systematic clinical studies of this method were carried out by N.K. Starkov in his doctoral thesis (Krasnodar, KubGMU, 2000, ‘Thérapie quantique non invasive dans le traitement complexe des maladies chirurgicales purulentes-inflammatoires - études cliniques et expérimentales’).
The mechanism of action and the effects obtained result from the use of the pulsed mode of UVO simultaneously in two UV bands (A, B), as well as partially in visible and infrared wavelengths (less than 1%). As with laser radiation (Kochetkov A.V., Moskvin S.V., 2004), UVO in pulsed mode is much more effective than in continuous mode thanks to its triggering effect on the body, initiating local and generalised reactions and processes aimed at restoring the functions of disturbed organs and tissues, and repairing local damage (systemic adaptive reaction of the living system with various manifestations at all levels of vital activity - Ulashchik V.S., 2008). According to Gurevich K.Y., Kostyuchenko A.L., Belotserkovsky M.V. and Kholmogorov V.E., the triggering effect consists in the development of radical chain reactions, explaining the rapid modification of blood by light. UV rays cause the formation of free radicals in aromatic and sulphur proteins, as well as in the pyrimidine bases of nucleic acids. These radicals are involved in electron transfer in the respiratory chain of mitochondria; similar radicals appear, for example, when phenolic antioxidants interact with lipid free radicals. Lipid oxidation by free radicals plays a major role in the effects of UV irradiation (Kozinets G.I.).
The main indications for using the device include: chronic inflammatory diseases of the internal organs, disorders of the musculoskeletal system, metabolic disorders, cardiovascular, allergic and infectious diseases, as well as chronic fatigue syndrome, and many others. In dermatology, it is used for psoriasis, eczema, seborrhoea, phlegmons, ulcers, etc.; and in surgery, for purulent inflammatory diseases, acute inflammatory conditions of the internal organs, and slow-healing wounds.
Testimonials and feedback
Some users report significant improvements, particularly for dermatological conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and poorly-healed wounds. Reported benefits include
- Improved wound healing: Some users report that the device has accelerated the healing process.
- Reduced inflammation and pain: Several testimonials mention a reduction in joint and muscle pain after regular sessions.
- Improved skin condition: For those suffering from skin disorders, positive results such as a reduction in rashes or redness are sometimes reported.
- Some clinical cases
- 1. patient B. (male, aged 58): In the winter of 2005, he contracted severe bronchitis and was treated with antibiotics for a long period. This resulted in multiple acute respiratory infections and acute respiratory viral infections (up to 15 illnesses per year, including in summer). In May and September 2007, I underwent treatments with the ‘Ecolight’ device - 20 procedures, 40 pulses each (in the epigastric region). Since then and until today (June 2009), there has not been a single acute respiratory infection. At the same time, the patient has experienced an increase in strength and energy. 2) Patient I (male, aged 51) suffered from psoriasis for many years (the lesions with foci of the disease covered 60% of the body surface). He has tried (according to him) every recipe: official and popular medicine, including hormonal means - nothing helped. I stopped smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages (in 2001), I tried not to stress the nervous system, but that didn't bring any relief. I used a carotolin ointment to reduce the itching. In autumn 2007, I started treatment with the ‘Ecolight’ device: 80-120 pulses for each nidus, 40-60 minutes a day, for a month (at the same time, I continued to use the carotoline ointment). Gradually, all the outbreaks of the disease disappeared (only barely visible spots remained). There were no relapses until June 2009, and the patient felt happy for the first time in many years. 3. patient A. (now male, aged 27). Since early childhood (according to his father), he had been allergic to spring flowers and red fruit. At the age of 13, in early spring, 30 sessions of 80 pulses were performed daily in the area of the brachial artery on a prototype ‘Ecolight’ device (then called ‘Blik’). That same year, the allergy symptoms diminished considerably, and the following year they no longer occurred at all. After 14 years, the young man had forgotten all about his former illness. 5.patient G. (male, aged 55), who had been suffering from gout for two years. He said he had tried all the remedies recommended by doctors, to no avail. In autumn 2008, he underwent treatment with the ‘Ecolight’ device: 10 treatments a day, 40 pulses in the epigastric region and 40 pulses in the area of the painful foci on the foot. The pain disappeared completely. To date (June 2009), there has been no relapse of the disease.
